Rohit Sharma jumped on top in the list of most IPL sixes hit by an Indian batsman after former Indian captain MS Dhoni.

On this 9th day of the IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians were playing against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk, Chennai) where MI skipper Rohit Sharma chose to bat first after winning the toss.

Rohit Sharma scored 32 runs off 25 balls, Rohit hit two four and two sixes. In this innings, Rohit hit his first six of the match in the third over while he smashed Mujeeb Ur Rahman With that hit, Rohit equaled the record of most IPL sixes as an Indian batsman with MS Dhoni who hit 216 six in IPL history

After that, in the fourth over, Rohit hit another six to Bhuvneshwar Kumar which was his 217th sixes in IPL. After that another sixer, Rohit surpassed Ms. Dhoni and became on the list of most IPL sixes as an Indian batsman.

While MS. Dhoni has smashed 216 sixes in his  IPL career, current Indian skipper Virat Kohli hits  201 sixes in this tournament history.

Currently, Rohit Sharma on the third potion in the list of most sixes in IPL history Hits by any batsman. While Chris Gayle just crossed the 350 sixes in his IPL career (351 sixes),  AB de Villiers is in second place with 237 sixes in this tournament history.
